10:15-11:15am: Ocean Seining at West Beach Pool Shop

Have you ever been puzzled over something you found on the beach? Do you wonder what critters are in the water swimming with you? Discover marine life firsthand as we comb the beach and pull our seine net through the surf. Don't forget your bathing suit as we pull the net together!

$20/participant. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required, please call 843.768.6001. 24-hour cancellation policy. Subject to availability.

12:45-1:30pm: Sidewalk Chalk Contest at Night Heron Park

Get your Picasso on and join us for a family friendly Sidewalk Chalk contest! Each family will have 1 hour to draw your most patriotic sidewalk chalk creation. Prizes will be rewarded at the end based on both creativity and 4th of July theme.

This event is complimentary, no reservations required. Chalk will be provided.

1-2:15pm: Lowcountry Investigator: Escape Box Experience at Night Heron Park Stage

If you're looking for a program you can really sink your teeth into, sign up for our tabletop escape experience! You will be tasked with using fun and factual information about alligators posted around the room to solve a series of clues provided at your team table. Do you have what it takes to chomp down on the solution that will get you into the naturalist's locked case before time is up?

Admission is $65/ family. Minimum of 3 teams to run the event and a maximum of 6 players per team. Advanced reservations required, call 843.768.6001. 24-hour cancellation policy applies. Ages 8+ recommended.

1:30-3pm: Snow Cone and Soda Party at Night Heron Park

Come enjoy a red, white, and blue snow cone or cool off with one of our other flavors!
Snow cones are available for purchase. Reusable cups will be available for purchase to receive a reduced rate on snow cones later in the week. No reservation is required. 

3-4pm: Pinewood Derby at Night Heron Park Stage

Race down to the Night Heron Park Stage for our Pinewood Derby, the ultimate 4th of July showdown. Decorate your racer with red, white and blue, come up with your most creative name, and enter the bracket style tournament to watch them go head-to-head down our custom ramp.

3-6pm: Back Island Birding at Nature Center at Night Heron Park

Discover the rich birdlife Kiawah has to offer, celebrated for its diverse species year-round. From tiny hummingbirds and kinglets to majestic bald eagles and wood storks, our van will take you to remote island habitats delving into the natural history of the avian wildlife.

$60/person. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required, please call 843.768.6001, 24-hour cancellation policy.

3:30-4:30pm: Craft by the Pool at Night Heron Pool Deck

Enjoy some extra fun poolside with this serene crafting afternoon. This craft will change weekly based on our recreation staffs' choice of the day.
Reservations are not required, pricing will be based on craft. Please note that Kiawah Island Golf Resort Pool usage is for resort guests and Governor's Club members only. 

4-5pm: Tie-Dye T-Shirts at Turtles' Nest Studio

Celebrate America with red, white, and blues. A Kiawah Island Golf Resort t-shirt is the perfect way to commemorate the festivities for July 4th!

$25+/shirt. No reservations required.

5-9pm: Pirate Night at Night Heron Park

Test your skills to determine if you're ready for the pirate's life! Try your knowledge to escape our ship, go to battle in a game of laser tag, or be on the lookout for hidden treasure. Batten down the hatches for an explosive night! This event is complimentary. Only the Pirate Ship Escape Room requires reservations, please call 843.768.6001. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Crafts and concessions available for purchase.

8:30-10pm: Teen Night: Slide after Dark at Night Heron Children's Pool

Splash down into the coolest party of the week! Join us poolside for cool waves, wild slides, music by our live DJ and interactive event host. This is the ultimate 4th of July deck party you won't want to miss.
Admission is complimentary, no reservations required. For ages 13-17.
