8-11am: Back Island Birding at Nature Center at Night Heron Park

Discover the rich birdlife Kiawah Island has to offer–celebrated for its diverse species year-round. From tiny hummingbirds and kinglets to majestic bald eagles and wood storks, our van will take you to remote island habitats delving into the natural history of the avian wildlife.

$60/person. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required, please call 843.768.6001, 24-hour cancellation policy.

11am-12pm: Kiawah Creatures Sanctuary Walk at The Sanctuary Hotel

Join a naturalist on a nature walk around The Sanctuary and explore some of our amazing habitats! You will see and learn a bit about everything nature-related to this part of Kiawah during this tour. From alligators to native plants and butterflies, to local bird species and freshwater turtles.

$20/person. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required, please call 843.768.6001, 24-hour cancellation policy

11am-12pm: Tie-Dye T-Shirts at Turtles' Nest Studio

Celebrate America with red, white, and blues. A Kiawah Island Golf Resort t-shirt is the perfect way to commemorate the festivities for July 4th!

$25+/shirt. No reservations required.

12-1:30pm: Pool Party at Night Heron Pool

Float into an afternoon full of USA themed music, games, and FUN! Join us on the Night Heron Pool Deck to get the 4th of July celebration started. Wear your most patriotic themed bathing suit.
Please note that Kiawah Island Golf Resort pool usage is exclusive to resort guests and Governor's Club members. Admission is complimentary, no reservations required.

1-2:30pm: Sand Sculpting Contest at Sanctuary Beach Access

Grab your shovels and head to the beach for our annual 4th of July Sand Sculpting Contest! Join in on the fun and channel your inner artist to create your best American themed sculpture. Not an artist? Come enjoy your afternoon on the beach and vote for your favorite sculpture!

Admission is complimentary, no reservations required. A limited amount of shovels and buckets are available on a first come first serve basis. Per town ordinance, metal shovels are not permitted.

5-5:45pm: Annual Patriotic Bike Parade at East Beach Village

Patriots of all ages are encouraged to join us on bikes, skates, roller blades, or by foot. Bike decorating begins at 5pm, parade starts promptly at 5:45pm. The Kiawah Island Recreation Department will lead the parade followed by Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty, and Captain America. The route leads participants down Sea Forest Drive from The East Beach Village, and finishes at Night Heron Park where everyone is welcome to join the Independence Day Celebration.

Admission is complimentary, no reservations required. Parade begins promptly at 5:45pm.

This event, as well as gate access during this time, is limited to Kiawah Island guests and residents.
