Emerging Artists Theatre’s Spark Theatre Festival NYC will run from March 3 – 23, 2025, in New York City. Nearly 60 performances will be presented across three weeks, including plays, musicals, solo shows, dance, and more.

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Love Potion

A modern-day witch in Manhattan who cannot make potions properly is suddenly faced with helping a woman who urgently needs a potion. This short comedy explores the theme of confidence.

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM: The Shomer

In Judaism, a Shomer protects the recently deceased until burial, but when Susan dies at the supermarket, the baker responsible for her death must fill this role. Unfortunately, her soul’s not at rest and the unlikely Shomer spends the night with a room of ghosts and questions about his happiness.

5:00 PM - 6:15 PM: Collective

This dance is a first collaboration among five NYC women friends who realized they don't need permission to do what they love. Las Danzas creates to discover and express their voices and to experience the joy and connection of movement while exploring themes that resonate with a larger community.

Have you ever wanted to strangle your father? No? Gio doesn’t know whether to protect him or place a pillow over his unfiltered mouth. If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, what about the road to Heaven? Sometimes, there’s a fine line between good and bad intentions.

5:00 PM - 6:15 PM: Substance Over Form

Variety Pack Collective presents a new work-in-progress that explores the very meaning of its title. The idea that substance prevails over form is a principle most often found in accounting. Perhaps this philosophy is also used subconsciously in everyday life when considering the truth behind what we see.

5:00 PM - 6:15 PM: y es mi manera de amar

Our piece hovers over the theme of connection and connectivity. The idea that we are connected and in contact whether we are physically or spiritually in close proximity with all the beings of earth and with earth itself. Our aim is to bring awareness to how all things affect all things and we are inevitably healing one another.

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM: Slack Off: Losing My Pants in the Israeli Army

A young American Jew travels to Israel/Palestine, faces a manic episode, and joins the Israeli military. This political yet deeply personal story explores the consequences of being in the wrong place, at the wrong time, for all the wrong reasons.
