Emerging Artists Theatre’s Spark Theatre Festival NYC will run from March 3 – 23, 2025, in New York City. Nearly 60 performances will be presented across three weeks, including plays, musicals, solo shows, dance, and more.

Festival Schedule:

7:00 PM - 8:15 PM: Metamorphisis

Shifting between moments of contact, separation, unison, and stillness, “Metamorphosis” explores the complex lives of individuals through independent and duet expression. By developing phrase work patterns, the dancers explore moments of insight and exchange.

7:00 PM - 8:15 PM: One-Way-Ticket

A hospital clown and a narcissistic Soap Opera star compete for votes on a game show. They will say anything to win the award: a year in a simulated space habitat, monitored by reality TV and the eventual leadership role of commander-in-chief of the one-way flight to Mars.

7:00 PM - 8:15 PM: p u r p l e f l a m e

p u r p l e f l a m e explores the strength of human resilience through the perspective of an individual and of a community. The work investigates personal intuition and group support, illustrating the depth and complexity of each person’s lived experiences and state of being.

A woman navigates movement within a confined space while battling the realization that she is a product for consumption. What does it mean to live in a body conditioned to become a product? How much of this is within our control?

Two women at life’s crossroads find vulnerability and resilience on stage. Through movement, they confront their fears, embrace their truths, and rediscover strength. SOLOS explores the powerful intersections of doubt and determination, vulnerability and empowerment, reminding us of the transformative power of self-discovery and the stories our bodies can tell.
