Schedule of Events:

9:00am - 12:00pm: Handmade Ramen from Scratch with Chris Toy at Winter Harbor Masonic Hall

Fast, fresh, and incredibly flavorful! This workshop will guide you through the process of making ramen from scratch, including creating two delicious broths (dashi-based and vegetarian), and crafting the perfect ajitama egg. You'll also learn how to prepare a variety of mouthwatering toppings to complete your ramen masterpiece.

9:00am - 12:00pm: Silk, Silk, and more Silk! with Sandi Cirillo at SAFA Schoolhouse

Learn about the different ways to make silk scarves in this class. We'll be painting on silk, using rust techniques, and tissue paper to make 2  beautiful scarves suitable to wear or to give as gifts. Silk is a wonderful fiber to work with as we experiment with different techniques and see what happens.  

1:00pm - 4:00pm: Wontons to Potstickers: Hands-on Dumpling Workshop with Chris Toy - FULL at Winter Harbor Masonic Hall

Embark on a culinary adventure as we explore the art of making three iconic Chinese dumplings: delicate wontons, elegant jiaozi, and the ever-popular potstickers. Learn to fold and fill these delicious treats with your own hands. We'll also delve into the fascinating stories behind these dumplings, including the one that saved its inventor's life! Discover the secrets of creating flavorful dipping sauces to complement your creations.

1:00pm - 4:00pm: Whimsical Shorebirds with Steve Valleau at SAFA Schoolhouse

This class will take place over two consecutive afternoons. The first session will be carving and sanding a Basswood bird cutout. The second session will be devoted to painting the bird carving and its wooden base with acrylic paint. The bird blank is relatively thin so although it will take less time than carving a fully round bird this project presents as many carving challenges.
